Circles, Circles, Circles!!! Create a drawing using circles as the main theme of your drawing.

Remember when you finish, take a picture of it and save it for everyone to see by clicking here or emailing to me at luckc@bangorschools.org.

Kindergarten through 2nd grade. Using a pencil, marker, or crayon trace 5 or more circles on a piece of paper, cardboard, newspaper, or whatever you have to draw on. When making your circles use a cup, a lid, or free hand draw circles the best you can-like I did for most of mine. Try to use different sizes of circles, make circles with-in circles, or try to make your circles touch and overlap. Color the circles primary colors and the background using secondary colors. If you want to challenge yourself even more, try to do some of the steps that the 2nd through 5th grade are doing. (Ignore the maple syrup stains from our breakfast. This Beautiful Oops will become part of my 'delicious' masterpiece).

3rd through 5th grade. First read the directions for kindergarten through 2nd grade, because your project starts the same way. After creating your circles, add lines and shapes (Zen Doodles) to create your own piece of artwork. Add color if you choose. Here are stages of a piece of artwork I created. Have fun!!!

The first step was to create my circles such as the first photo at the top. I then continued to use pencil to create zen doodles.

Next, I outlined everything in sharpie. I make a lot of mistakes, so I often like to use pencil first.

The third step was to add color. I only have 20 colored pencils and some crayons at home right now so I had to just work with what I had. You may also have limited supplies. Use whatever you have. I used crayon, colored pencils, and black marker on mine. Even if you only have 2 colored crayons or just a pencil, give it a try.

This is what I ended up with. I will be showing you later how to add shadow, but zoom in on mine and see if you can copy what I did.

Have fun!!!
